What is being built, and what already is

One person writes WrapShot, so the order things get built in matters more than usual. This board is that order, in public. Bugs go on it too, because a bug that is slowing you down should be visible next to the features it is competing with.

14 items today, 5 of them already in the app. Versions are targets, not dates.

Building now

3
  • Social clip exports

    targeting v0.4.0

Every moment you mark during review becomes a clip, written in a vertical, square and wide version off the same master render.

  • Safe zones you can see

    targeting v0.4.0

Crop guides for Instagram, TikTok, Shorts and LinkedIn painted over the preview, so you can see what each platform will cover before you commit to a clip.

    Needs: Social clip exports

  • Recorder filenames read on import

    targeting v0.3.4

Riverside, StreamYard and Zoom exports are matched from their filenames. Some of the newer Riverside naming patterns are missed on import, and that is the bug being cleared next.

  • Saved rule presets

    targeting v0.5.0

Shot length, room threshold and switching rules saved under a name, so a whole back catalog can be cut the same way without setting it up per episode.

  • Captions burned into clips

    targeting v0.6.0

Word timing already exists in the transcript. This puts it on the clip itself, styled and positioned inside the safe zone rather than over it.

    Needs: Social clip exports

  • Cloud rendering as an option

Rendering stays on your Mac by default. This adds the choice to send an approved timeline out to render when you would rather have the machine back.

Considering

3
  • Lower thirds

Name and title cards drawn over a speaker when the cut lands on them, using the speaker labels the transcript already carries.

    Needs: Captions burned into clips

  • Motion graphics

Intro and outro cards, plus simple animated transitions between segments. The furthest out of anything on this list.

  • Windows version

The whole pipeline runs on device, so Windows is a real port rather than a recompile. It is gated on how much demand the Mac build sees first, and there is no date.

  • Frame accurate sync

    v0.1.0

Every feed is lined up by audio correlation, and the offset is reported in milliseconds so you can check the result rather than trust it.

  • Cameras without their own mic

    v0.2.0

A second angle that recorded no audio inherits the sync of the speaker it was pointed at, so B cams and phone shots reach the timeline too.

    Needs: Frame accurate sync

  • Filler word muting

    v0.2.0

Ums, likes and false starts are flagged in the transcript. Mute all of them in one click, or keep the ones that sound like you.

  • One render, every format

    v0.3.0

Outputs are chosen once and written from a single master pass, instead of re-encoding the whole episode once per platform.

  • Transcript, subtitles and chapters

    v0.3.0

A speaker labeled transcript with timecodes, an SRT file any player will read, and YouTube chapters with a WebVTT cue file. All of it comes with the export.

Contribute and Influence

There is no voting on this board yet. When there is, it will come from contributions: the projects people back are what decide which item moves up. That mechanism is still being built, so for now the board is a read of where things stand rather than a ballot.
